DIY plastic-free face scrub πŸ‘ƒ . I created a face scrub recipe that is everything i've been searching for - and didn't break the bank or the planet for it πŸ™Œ Goodbye winter skin πŸ‘‹ . Link in bio.
Vitamin Sea πŸ’§ . Grateful to have always lived close to the ocean wherever I've been in the world. What a magical and powerful environment. . Have you ever tried inhaling and exhaling as the waves go in and out? Try it next time you're at the beach - the best meditation πŸ™
That feeling when you find package-free nutritional yeast and tofu πŸ™ŒπŸ™πŸ€™πŸ’› . Stopped by @thesoapdispensary earlier today to stock up on nutritional yeast (obvi for cheese sauce and popcorn topping), tofu, and a small bit of rice flour to make a face exfoliant. . I love how you can pay for the exact amount you need when shopping in bulk. No wasted product, no wasted $, no packaging. I used a tupperware for the rice flour, an old glass jar/bottle for the yeast and an old yogurt container for the tofu. . Does anyone else feel super satisfied when they have a package-free grocery shop? . Feeling super grateful that stores like this exist, and are not too far away from me.
Actions speak louder than opinions. It's one thing to see trash on the ground and judge the people who put it there. It's another thing to pick up that said trash and put it in the bin where it should be. Because that second option actually makes a difference. . I encourage you to pick up one piece of trash on your way home today! If everyone did it, we would have a much cleaner world 🌎 (& hopefully less people who litter!) #leadbyexample
I recently wrote about my Zero Waste Carry-on Essentials ✈. I've been on a lot of (long!) flights in the past few years while living abroad, and I love to travel. So to combat a small part of the environmental impact of my flight, I've curated a selection of items I always bring with me to survive the travel time while lowering my waste. β–ͺ Link in bio ☝️
How satisfying and gorgeous is looseleaf tea though πŸ’πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
Inspired by nature πŸŒΏπŸŒ±πŸŒ²πŸƒ . Sometimes I get lazy with trying to take the environmental route. I get in my head and think that one coffee cup or plastic wrapped vegetable at the supermarket isn't thaaat bad. And then I immerse myself back in nature and all the inspiration and reasoning behind why I'm trying to live with less waste floods back to me, and my purpose and drive for making conscious changes resurface. We live on a pretty amazing planet. I want to do what I can to keep it that way (& even reverse some of the impacts we've already made πŸ™ˆ). Even if I make a few mistakes on the way there . Have you stepped out in nature recently?
Stopped by @kotn for some ethical basics ☁️ . Kotn sources their cotton directly from the farmer, which means quality, ethical pieces without the crazy mark-up πŸ™Œ . I had researched kotn quite a bit on their website and knew exactly what I wanted to try before arriving at the store. Shopping like this gives me time to check my closet & see where the actual gaps are before I step foot in a store - helping me avoid overspending & impulse buys. . So excited to add this top to my wardrobe!
Vegan or leather shoes? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ . I've been contemplating a lot recently about the environmental impacts of locally made leather products VS vegan (usually PVC or polyurethane synthetic leather). Which one has less of an environmental impact? . Is it more environmentally friendly to buy leather shoes from an artesan who sourced their leather locally and handmade the product? Or is it better to purchase vegan boots but made from more synthetic fibres and pollution from producing these materials? . Has anyone looked into this? What do you think? Local Leather or PVC? . I own both. Pictured are locally made boots from @nalca_zapatos , but I also own vegan shoes from @matt_and_nat_ and @bcfootwear . What shoes do you opt for?
